MOBILE, Ala. (October 1, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers women’s soccer team accepted a rain-soaked 4-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the Christian Brothers University (CBU) Buccaneers at Library Field on Friday evening.

The Buccaneers (6-3, 4-1 GSC) scored in the 23rd minute off a goal from Cheyenne Smith and opened the second period with a goal in the 47th minute by Sammi Goodrich. A third goal came in the 50th minute off the foot of Bailey Tadlock who also wrestled in a goal off an entry by Marita Cancio two minutes later.

Riley Chafin (6-3) of the Buccaneers faced two Badger shots and no corner attempts.

Following the contest SHC head coach Emily Marcouiller commented, “Unfortunately, it was not our best game. We played ok. We had very few chances that we didn’t take advantage of so that was hard. But we have to get our focus back and be ready to play Sunday.”

The Badgers (0-9; 0-5 GSC) will host the Union University Bulldogs (1-5; 1-3 GSC) at Library Field in another GSC contest on Sunday at 1 p.m.
